DESCRIPTION: Under general supervision, performs work of considerable difficulty installing, configuring, testing, and monitoring computer and communication systems, networks, and associated peripheral devices; performs related duties as required or assigned. Thirty (30) semester hours of post high school course work in computer science, management information systems, or equivalent technical training; three (3) years progressively responsible experience in technical support of computer systems, networks, and related equipment; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Special requirements: Must possess and maintain an Arizona driver's license if position duties require; experience with mid-range, file server, data communications systems, and peer-to-peer networks is preferred; certified network administrator preferred; experience with IBM and IBM compatible file servers, AS/400, and Novell NetWare is preferred.
