DESCRIPTION: Prince George's County Government is seeking an experienced, highly competent professional as Manager of the new Benefits Division. This individual will be responsible for designing and administering a complex benefits program for 6000+ employees and 2000+ retirees. This is a senior level management position that reports to the Personnel Director. The successful applicant will directly supervise a staff of 9 professional and support positions and oversee the administration of medical, dental, vision, prescription, life insurance, flexible spending, and disability insurance plans. Minimum qualifications are a Master's degree in personnel administration, business/public administration, psychology, sociology, or a closely related field, plus four (4) years of responsible human resource administration with at least two (2) of the years in a supervisory or management level capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred qualifications are 7 recent years of progressively responsible experience in managing benefit programs, with at least 4 years at the senior supervisory level, as well as certification in the health benefits discipline.
