DESCRIPTION: Serve as Chief Information Officer for the City of Hickory, overseeing one of the most advanced local government networks in the State of North Carolina. Assume full management responsibility for all department services and activities including personnel computers, mainframe, geographical information systems, telephone, radio, catv and internet systems; recommend and administer policies and procedures. Requires a Bachelor�s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience and training combination. Prefer a Masters Degree in Public or Business Administration, or related field; six years of increasingly responsible information systems experience including three years of management and administrative responsibility.
