DESCRIPTION:
Under limited supervision, supervises, plans and directs the activities of the Risk Management Department in order to ensure the proper management of a variety of City insurance policies and programs, employee benefits program, and safety programs. Reviews work of subordinates for completeness and accuracy. Reports to the City Manager. Requires a Bachelor�s Degree in business administration or related field, supplemented by at least six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in insurance; specifically liability, health, disability, or life insurance; and/or risk management, to include two (2) years of managerial / supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Strong supervisory / managerial, technical, writing, and planning skills are required. Must possess a valid state driver�s license. Governmental experience is desired.
