DESCRIPTION: This position is responsible for maintaining security in the jail and for performing necessary functions to ensure the safety and well-being of inmates, employees, and visitors. To be considered for employment, the minimum qualifications are:
* At least 18 years of age
* High School Diploma or GED
* Clean Criminal Record
* Valid Georgia Driver's License
* No adverse driving record
* U. S. Citizenship
* Good Credit Record
* Good Health
* Good Moral Character
The process is thorough to ensure the best qualified candidates are selected. This selection process includes, but is not limited to:
* Entry Level Testing
* Background Investigation
* Oral Interview
* Psychological Evaluation
* Medical Examination Including Drug Testing
Once you have submitted an application and successfully completed the Entry Level Examination , you could be considered for employment for a period of one year from the date of successful completion. Previous correctional facility experience and public relations skills are preferred. Applicant must meet P.O.S.T. requirements. The hours for this position are 84 hours every two weeks (12 hour shifts).
