DESCRIPTION: The purpose of this job is to protect life and property, recognize and protect the Constitutional rights of citizens, and to enforce federal, state, and local laws. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: patrolling assigned locations; responding to emergency calls; conducting preliminary investigations; apprehending offenders; providing traffic direction; participating in court activities; maintaining peace and order in situations that violate or pose a threat to public safety; preparing/maintaining documentation; providing information/assistance to the general public; and performing additional tasks as assigned. To be considered for employment, the minimum qualifications are:
+ At least 18 years of age
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ Clean Criminal Record
+ Valid Georgia Driver's License
+ No adverse driving record
+ U. S. Citizenship
+ Good Credit Record
+ Good Health
+ Good Moral Character
The selection process is thorough to ensure the best qualified candidates are selected.
This process includes, but is not limited to:
+ Entry Level Testing
+ Physical Agility
+ Background Investigation
+ Oral Interview
+ Polygraph (Verification of Personal History)
+ Psychological Evaluation
+ Medical Examination Including Drug Testing
Once you have submitted an application and successfully completed the Entry Level Examination and Physical Agility Test, you could be considered for employment for a period of one year from the date of successful completion. Inmate security/law enforcement experience is preferred. Must pass P.O.S.T. Certification within required time frame.
