DESCRIPTION: Incumbent plans, supervises and evaluates a variety of recreational programs and services to meet the needs of the residents of the city with emphasis in the areas of community centers, playgrounds, special events, after school programs and community based activities; develops policies, procedures and methods for implementation and improvement of program operations; provides technical assistance, program guidance and supervision to staff; manages and supervises the maintenance of facilities and equipment; works closely with a variety of boards, community groups and volunteers; assists in other recreation development projects, marketing and public relations. Requires degree in recreation, fine arts or similar field with three years experience in recreation program development with one year in a supervisory/management capacity; CLP preferred.
