DESCRIPTION: Polk
County (The County of Choice), located in beautiful Central Florida mid-way
between Orlando and Tampa is seeking a Fiscal Manager. This is a responsible
administrative and professional position in the field of governmental finance,
budgeting and accounting. Participates in the formulation of department
policies and procedures. Responsibility for all budgeting and accounting
activities relating to the department, requiring a thorough knowledge of
governmental and fund accounting principles. Work requires proficiency with,
and the ability to learn and efficiently utilize, sophisticated computer
application software, including development of customized spreadsheet and
reporting applications. Supervises assigned fiscal personnel. Responsibility for
preparation of monthly financial updates, quarterly interim financial
statements, and annual finance reports.
Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited four (4) year college or university
with a degree in Accounting or Finance, and a minimum of five (5) years of
progressively responsible experience in accounting and fiscal preparation which
included budget preparation and financial analysis with emphasis on governmental
operations. Requires a valid Florida driver�s license at the time of
employment. Prefer applicants hold an active designation of Certified Public
Accountant (CPA) and two (2) years supervisory management experience.
