DESCRIPTION: Since
its establishment in 1939, the King County Housing Authority has played a key
role in providing affordable housing options for the residents of King County,
Washington, the twelfth most populous county in the nation. With its
administrative offices located in Tukwila, WA, KCHA administers a broad range of
federally and locally financed housing programs. Its residential communities are
considered some of the best in the country. KCHA is a municipal corporation with
332 employees. The Finance Department, which has 16 FTE�s, manages an agency
budget of $98.7 million and has a department budget of $3.1 million. Under the
general administrative direction of the Assistant Executive Director for
Administration, the Finance Director is responsible for directing the
accounting, budgeting and financial reporting functions of the Housing
Authority. Duties include: oversee preparation and publication of KCHA Annual
Comprehensive Operating Budget; hire, supervise, train and evaluate staff;
provide financial analysis for a variety of initiatives; attain strategic-level
knowledge of federal housing programs and assist other departments in
understanding impacts of changes in funding levels and regulations; assist
Assistant Executive Director in managing cash flows and investment strategies
for KCHA managed funds; attend Board of Commissioners meetings and make
financial and budget presentations as required. A bachelor�s degree in
accounting, business or equivalent education in accounting and/or finance and a
minimum of five years related work experience is required. A master�s degree is
preferred. Specialized training, which may be obtained in vocational courses or
on the job, and at least nine years related work experience may substitute for
education. Experience working with public agencies and/or real estate preferred.
At least three years supervisory experience is required. Competitive candidates
