DESCRIPTION: The City of Wilson is
seeking a WASTEWATER OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR to oversee the
operation and maintenance of water reclamation facilities. Our facilities
consist of approximately 300 miles of pipe mains, and 21 public pump stations
ranging in capacity up to 28 MGD.
Qualifications: Qualified applicants must have: thorough knowledge of wastewater
treatment facilities operation, equipment, and maintenance; knowledge of
chemical, physical, and bacteriological analyzes of water; and knowledge of
federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to treatment and
analysis. Must have demonstrated the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize
work of subordinates; possess exceptional interpersonal and communication
skills.
Selected Candidate will possess: an Associates degree in Chemistry,
Environmental Science, or a related field with at least five years of
experience, Bachelors degree in one of the areas identified, and at least of
three years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training,
and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will
be considered. Must have or acquire a NC Grade IV WW Operator Cert. is required
within 18 months of hire. A valid Drivers License is required. PC and math
computation skills also required.
