The City Of Snohomish Is Considered To Be One Of The Most Livable Small Communities In Western Washington. The City Engineer Leads The Engineering Division Of The Department Of Public Works.  He Or She Will Supervise And Mentor Two Engineering Project Managers, A Parks And Trails Project Manager, A Right-Of-Way Inspector, And A GIS/Recordkeeping Staff Member. The City Engineer Will Work Closely With The Operations Division Manager And Other Members Of The Public Works Management Team, As Well As Staff From The Community Development Department.  The City Engineer May Be Called Upon To Make Presentations Regarding Projects And Proposals To The City Council Or Other Groups. A Bachelor’s Degree From An Accredited College Or University With Major Course Work In Civil Engineering Or A Related Field Is Preferred. Eight Years Of Increasingly Responsible Engineering Experience Including Two Years Of Administrative And Supervisory Responsibility Is Required. Possession Of Registration As A Professional Engineer In The State Of Washington, Or The Ability To Obtain Such License Within One Year Of Hire Is Required. However, Any Combination Of Education And Experience That Would Likely Provide The Required Knowledge And Abilities May Substitute For The Above Requirement.
