DESCRIPTION: University
of Central Missouri seeks a Director, Missouri Safety Center with responsibility
for planning and implementing all aspects of the center’s mission. Provide
leadership in support of the statewide/nationwide general safety mission, the
Missouri Safety Center mission statement, and the University’s policies and
standards for all program activity. We seek an energetic professional skilled
in grant writing, whose experience and vision can help identify ways to expand
public services and communications to customers. Provide leadership in creating
and offering new services and programs to meet identified needs. Provide
leadership in public service activities, to include: testifying before
legislature, addressing media regarding safety concerns, speaking to various
professional/civic organizations. Serve as the primary liaison to state,
national, and international groups concerning safety, health, and environmental
missions which impact the center’s mission, to include representation to state
and national boards, committees, and grant-related activities.
Qualifications: A Master’s in Safety, Criminal Justice, Industrial Safety, or
related field required. A Doctorate degree is preferred. Five years
progressively more responsible experience in a safety related field including
grant writing and personal management. Five years verifiable experience in
project writing and project leadership. Three years of program administration
or supervision.
