Probation Officer I: $2,770 - $3,505/ Month; Deputy Probation Officer II: $3,061

DESCRIPTION: Deputy
Probation Officers perform referral, supervision, counseling and rehabilitation
services for a case load of adult and juvenile offenders on probation and their
families. Deputy Probation Officer I is the trainee level in the probation
officer series. Deputy Probation Officer II is the journey level in the
professional Probation officer series. THE REQUIREMENTS:
Deputy Probation Officer I: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an
accredited four year college or university, in psychology, sociology, social
services, humanities, criminal justice or a related field; OR, two years of
experience performing duties comparable to those of Probation Aide with the
County of Santa Cruz. Deputy Probation Officer
II: One year of experience performing duties comparable to a Deputy Probation
Officer I in Santa Cruz County and successful completion of the core training
course for Probation Officers as mandated by the Standards and Training for
Corrections Program.
