DESCRIPTION: This position performs emergency dispatch duties for the City of Hutchinson and Reno County, answering incoming telephone calls, obtaining necessary information, dispatching emergency response personnel, and maintaining department records. One to three years similar or related experience is preferred. A high school diploma or G.E.D. is required, and a technical degree or some college credit is preferred. Employee must possess National Crime Information Center certification within six months of employment, and possession of certifications as Emergency Medical Dispatcher and in CPR is preferred.
