The county seat is located in historic Chehalis, the County’s second largest city, and is the headquarters for the Public Health & Social Services Department. The Department has just over 51 FTE’s, a budget for 2009 of $7,765,986, and consists of seven major divisions: Personal & Community Health, Assessment/Evaluation Preparedness, Environmental Health, Code Enforcement, Senior Services, Social Services, and Animal Shelter.
Reporting to the Board of Commissioners, the Director is responsible for ensuring the effective coordination of programs and strategies required to protect and improve the health and social services needs of Lewis County residents. The Director also acts as the Administrator for the County Board of Health.
Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Environmental Science, Nursing, or related science field, and seven years professional experience in public health and social services programs, including two years management experience.
