Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree preferable.
A background of progressively responsible experience as a City Manager/Assistant City Manager in a metropolitan area is highly desirable. Strong leadership, managerial, consensus building, and interpersonal skills essential. Some experience in building a team dealing with redevelopment. Appointed by directly elected Mayor and eight Aldermen from four wards all elected on a non-partisan basis for four-year overlapping terms. Residency is preferred.
