DESCRIPTION:  The City of Washington, Missouri (population 14,000) is seeking applications from qualified persons for the position of City Administrator, who serves as the Chief Administrative Officer of the City under the general direction of the Mayor and City Council.  Washington is a 3rd class city in Franklin County with an annual budget of $30 million and approximately 125 full-time employees. 

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in management, public administration or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred and at least five years of general management or city management experience.  The successful candidate must be able to communicate well with citizens, Mayor, Council Members and City staff and have a proven record of strong interpersonal skills, financial planning, contract compliance and human resources.  Knowledge of municipal utilities is a plus.  Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
