DESCRIPTION:  City of Quinter, Kansas (pop. 954; $1.7 mill. budget; 6.5 FTE’s), Located in Gove County, NW Kansas, this rural family oriented community situated off Interstate 70 and U.S. Route 40 K-212 and a major Union Pacific railroad line pass through the city. Quinter is situated halfway between Kansas City and Denver. Historically a farming community, Quinter generates commerce through small industry and Main Street businesses. The ideal applicant will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration or a related field, master’s degree preferred and at least three years of municipal-government experience. The background of a successful candidate should include strong leadership, municipal utilities and finance experience, open communication and a proven track record that demonstrates outstanding public relations skills. This community-oriented leader will promote economic development initiatives, transparency in government, and positive intergovernmental relations.
