DESCRIPTION: The Administrative Accountant will assist in the preparation of the annual financial report and perform monthly accounting duties related to financial reporting.  The job will also include, but is not limited to, budget preparation and compliance, general ledger maintenance, modified and full accrual double entry accounting, backing up payroll and accounts payables, accounts receivables, fixed asset accounting and depreciation, grants management, and the development and maintenance of an integrated and automated financial accounting system.  Work is received with little or no technical instruction and requires the resolution of complex problems with considerable latitude for independent judgment to develop procedures and systems, and establish priorities while working within the framework of established guidelines.  This position will oversee payroll and expenditure processing in coordination with the Administrative Chief Accountant position.

Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field and (5) years of double entry accounting experience in a public agency utilizing fund accounting, and/or in a public accounting firm servicing clients using fund accounting. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Government Finance manager (CGFM) preferred. Experience in the above areas may be substituted, year for year, for education.
